Ismat Chughtai: Fearless Voice Who Dared to Dream

    03/25/2025 /

I was seventeen when I first read Lihaaf (The Quilt). It was an old book. It was slightly tattered. I found it in my college library. It was tucked away between heavier volumes of Urdu literature. The librarian, an elderly man with silver-rimmed glasses, gave me a knowing smile as he stamped the book. “You’ll remember this one,” he said. I had no idea what he meant—until I turned the first page. I read it in one sitting. My hands gripped the edges of the book. It was as if I were holding onto something dangerous, something I wasn’t supposed to touch. I had read about love before. But never…

Why in India Justice for Rape Victims Remain Elusive?

    08/17/2024 /

India once again faces a tragically painful problem. Justice for the defiled is a very long and mostly difficult task. The results are often spoiled by systemic drawbacks. Dr. Moumita’s story is an example of this; a young doctor who had her life cruelly taken away.Legal reforms in India became a law with the Nirbhaya ratio in 2013, and the maze of corruption in the country is still too deep, affording them great obstacles in law enforcement and justice, which is how they gravely failed the justice process. The question as to why the victims like Dr. Moumita never win through the system arises. Society remains passive. Political will is…

India Was More Civilized Than Rest Of The World In Ancient Times

    06/18/2024 /

The ancient Greeks not have been the oldest civilization, but they were undoubtedly one of the most influential. Ancient India’s era concluded when the old Persian Empire conquered Persia in the 4th century BC. This was a time when ancient Persian civilization was indeed the most powerful empire in the world. Our Society

    05/19/2021 /

Welcome to our society,We hope you enjoy your stay,And please feel free to be yourself,As long as It’s in the right way,We’ll tell you that, you are worthless,That you shouldn’t make a sound,And then cry with all others, As you are buried in the ground or cremated, Welcome to our society,Make sure you love your body,Not too much or We’ll tear you down apart,We’ll bully you for smiling,And for showing you emotions,And then wonder, why you frown, Welcome to our societyYou can fall in love with anyone,As long as It’s who we choose,And of course we’ll allowYou to have your opinion,But please shape them into our views, Welcome to our society,We promise…
